Robert Comyn has over 30 years of management, sales, and technical experience in the software industry. Bob was the founder of Midwest Software, Ltd. of Rolling Meadows, IL which was a custom business software company whose largest clients included Motorola, Wal-Mart, and Sears. The company was eventually purchased by a large consulting firm in California. He was responsible for the full management and strategic planning of the company. He has developed several complete marketing programs for niche markets that effectively promoted the development and sales of many types of software systems including: back-office accounting, customized order entry, custom pricing, billing, inventory, and manufacturing control.
Sales & Marketing
Our Sales and Marketing VP brings over 25 years of high-tech sales, marketing, and management experience to Software ID Technology. He began his career at IBM where he had responsibility for the State of California account. He has worked with government and Fortune 1000 accounts across the Western US on major projects that have included mainframes, ERP, CRM, GIS/CAD, and software, including system software and asset management applications. He was instrumental in developing the State of California GIS Data Center and was appointed to the ?DMV of the Future? committee by then Governor Pete Wilson. His marketing/communication work has included developing web site content, corporate communications, and marketing materials for companies as diverse as small start-ups to Fortune 500 accounts, such as Fair Isaac. He has also developed sales training courses and taught courses at his own company, as well as for Sales Performance International, developers of the Solution Selling® methodology. Along with a lengthy career at major high-tech companies such as IBM, Intergraph, Attachmate, and Clarify he has found time to do extensive volunteer work for the University of California at Berkeley, his alma mater, as well as being a published author with several major California newspaper Op-eds to his credit.
Programming & Support
Doug Morton has been a computer consultant and developer for over 25 years. Doug has worked for nearly every type and size of business - from 2-person non-profits to multi-national companies, ranging from a lighting shop and a small business owner up to Visa, Bank of America, the University of California, the US Postal Service - and everything in between. He has started and run companies, getting involved in financing and staffing, marketing and promotion and has functioned as CIO and even acting CEO. His efforts have been featured in Wired and Forbes magazines. Doug has written custom applications in banking, accounting, inventory, personnel, project management, fleet management, utilities, city management, real estate - and recently, built on-line international communities and e-commerce sites. With some partners, Doug was a pioneer in the integrated home control field - being one of the first to develop internet control of devices.
This knowledge combined with years of first-hand experience working with companies trying to perform software audits has enabled SiTech to address a problem faced by any company attempting to accurately and completely identify software in their environment.
